Records Destruction

The Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ (GCBDD) Early Intervention program will begin destruction of all Early Intervention records, per Ohio’s Early Intervention Procedural Safeguards Rule (OAC 5123-10-01) and MCBDD records retention procedure, for children who are 9 years old or older. This includes your child, whose birthday falls prior to August 2016. Destruction of these records is the best protection against improper or unauthorized disclosure. This only includes records related to your child’s time in early intervention (which could be anytime from birth until their 3rd birthday).

 

Parents/Guardians may request their child’s records in lieu of destruction by contacting Jessica Smith at the GCBDD at 740-439-4451 ext.6817 by April 25, 2026. Destruction of records will begin end of April 2026.
